J&K Political Migrants Front presents Memorandum to Governor
SRINAGAR, May 28 : A 12-member delegation of the office bearers of
the Jammu & Kashmir Political Migrants Front, met Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor,
at Raj Bhavan here today and presented to him a Memorandum of their demands.
The demands presented by the delegation led by Sheikh Mohi-ud-Din Shabnam,
Chairman of the Front, included, interalia, enhancement of monthly cash relief
of migrants, providing employment to their wards, provision of additional
accommodation to the political migrants, representation to the Front in the
Apex Committee for Migrants and providing medical facilities to them. The
delegation felicitated the Governor on his appointment for the second term and
presented a memento to him. The Governor gave a patient hearing to the
deputationists and assured that he would take up the issues raised by them with
the concerned authorities in the State and the Central Governments. Mr. Navin
K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor, was present on the occasion.
