Pakistan’s sell-off: China expanding footprint in PoK, Gilgit, Balochistan
China is expanding its presence in PoK, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan with the help of Pakistan Governments, be it dictators or elected regimes, who have ignored interests of the local people. The ruling PML (N) government has hailed the relationship with China as being “higher than the Himalayas and sweeter than honey”. During his visit to China in July 2013, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif signed many agreements including an Dollar18 billion economic corridor from Xinjinag on China’s western border to the Gwadar port in Balochistan. Sharif also called for an early completion of repair work on the Karakoram Highway, which runs from Xinjiang through Azad Kashmir. Experts say this is of economic and strategic interest to China and will not benefit the people of Pakistan or Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

China verifying Pakistan's arrest of terror attack plotter
China hasn't received official notification from Pakistan on the reported arrest of the chief plotter behind the June terrorist attack that resulted in the death of two Chinese citizens, the Foreign Ministry said on September 6. The Chinese embassy in Pakistan will continue to verify the information, foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at a press briefing. He said China appreciated Pakistan's efforts to handle the terrorist attack, in which 11 people, including two Chinese, were killed this June in the northern Pakistan area of Gilgit-Baltistan. "China opposes terrorism in any form," Hong said, while commenting on a report that said the chief plotter behind the June terrorist attack was arrested.  He added that China hoped Pakistan will continue to take effective measures to safeguard the safety and legitimate interests of Chinese citizens and institutions there
